QPainter pnt(this);
пытаться
QPainter pnt(viewport());
pnt.setPen(QColor( 0, 0, 0, 0xff ));
pnt.drawRect(viewport()->rect());
viewport () — это окрашиваемая область, которая может быть причиной проблемы
